Ways to Help You in Finding Your Passion

It may be easy to say that you are ready to make certain steps in finding your passion. But once you have set your mind to do these, you will soon realize that nothing is really simple and easy when it comes to this. There are so many things to think about and issues to be settled before it finally becomes clear what you really want to achieve.

Take One Step at a Time

To make sure that you will get to your goal no matter how long it takes, you should take the necessary steps to get there. The first thing that you have to fully understand is where you are going to. You have to define that goal. What do you really want to achieve? At this point, you must answer truthfully. You cannot aim to be a gold medalist in swimming when you don’t even know how to swim.

To help you in setting your goals, it will be best if you fully understand your strengths and weaknesses. You should comprehend all your limitations. You must not be too hard on yourself by wanting something that you don’t have the capacity to attain.

After you have defined your goals, it will be easier to plan how you are going to get there. But before you get serious with that, you have to analyze your current situation. Are you happy with where you are at? Because if you are, maybe you should rethink why would you still want to go on a different path?

On the other hand, if you feel like you are stuck on your current job and the circumstances where you are at, then you no longer have to think about what you should do. This is a very good sign that you have to move on. You have to get out of your current situation before it gets too late. Sometimes, people become too comfortable being in the zone where they are not required to excel. That should not be the case. This only means that you are no longer allowing yourself to grow. And when that happens, you may lose track of the goals that you have set to achieve.

When you have reached the point that you have forgotten about what you really want to attain, you must check on your old self. Go back to the point when you were still not where you are right now. Who are you back then? What did you dream of becoming and achieving at that point in your life? What were the things that made you happy and made you feel inspired? After realizing what you have missed, you must then think about what went wrong and what happened which caused for you to take a different route, farther than where you really would want to be.

Expand Your Horizon

No matter how young or how old you are, you still have chances to correct your mistakes. You still can take action in finding your passion. You can always go back to the point when you have chosen to turn right when you were supposed to turn left. Go back at that point in your life. And this time, make sure that you will take the direction to the left with a more positive attitude that this is really where you want to be.

EVERY STUDENT IS UNIQUE IN ITS OWN WAY

If we observe the world we will come to know that intelligence is found in
many forms. Everyone has something unique in themselves, we just need to
figure that out. Every child is special and capable, they simply need
acceptance, a bit of understanding and someone who can push them towards their
strength and uniqueness.
Intelligence can be found in many diverse forms, be it a child able to prove
his/her intellect in practical approaches or an adult able to run a company in
the best way possible. While an adult has some time to grow and reflect
upon the teachings from his/her childhood till adulthood, the intellect that
a child possesses is the purest form of intelligence in its own way. Earlier in
life, a child is looked upon and is appreciated by their parents.

In today's modern society, people are more influenced by the words of the
society, leading them to neglect the qualities of their child which once they
considered him to grow into.

In accordance, there may a distinct style of learning that may suit a
particular child, which substantiates our point that every child is special and
capable in its own way. The premise here is the child moved forward towards
his or her interests without being digressed towards other ways.

CORAL DWECK

A Stanford researcher studied preservation and motivation and found that
students can be categorized into two categories:

  • The one with the growth mindset:

Those who believe that their success is the result of their hard work. Children with a growth mindset see intelligence as something very diverse. The more learning is done, the smarter the person will be.

  • The one with a fixed mindset:

Those who work with the tendency to only look smarter and therefore they have a tendency of avoiding the challenges, see effort as fruitless or worse, give up easily, ignore useful suggestions, jealous or threatened by the success of others. As a result, they do and achieve less according to their real potential.

When it comes to marks, some kids are unable to score well in exams that’s doesn’t mean they can't lead a successful life, many types of research have proved that many students who don't score well in exams have more intellectual level than the one who scored highest. This proves that intelligence can’t be measured in numbers. We should find out that one strength through which a child can achieve happiness and not only success.

Let’s take the example of Albert Einstein, it is said that Albert Einstein had dyslexia which is a learning disability still he is among the world's greatest scientists. Hence my point is proven that EVERY CHILD IS CAPABLE AND UNIQUE IN ITS OWN WAY. No one can stop them from touching the heights. EVERY KID SIMPLY NEEDS ONE CHANCE AND THEY CAN DO WONDERS AND EVEN BETTER THAN THE NORMAL.

    PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF UNEMPLOYMENT

Unemployment is highly raising a problem in developing countries, especially in India. People in India
go for higher education in the hope of getting a high paid job, but it is creating unemployment in the country
with highly educated people, such people feel heisted in doing jobs with the low pay scale, and jobs with
high pay cheques want more skills and experience than the individual have. Such a problem is rising
with the increase of graduates every passing year; industries are not growing at the same rate.

    Basic problems are

    • Individuals choose streams against their interest area in the pressure of family, friends, and others, that cause dropouts, loose in interest after education, fewer skills and others. This became a problem in youth because they do not have an interest in what they are doing, so they lost the opportunities to gain the required skills.
    • Loose of interest is also a big issue because of which you leave your job and want to change your field but you do not have enough skills for the new field you want to join, and now you neither have a job nor the skills for new career options.
    • Competiton is another big issue because we are a country of 100 million and everyone possesses some kind of skills to perform the job, we also do not have enough job opportunities for everyone.
    • Fewer jobs are again a big issue, if we do not have enough jobs we can not provide jobs to everyone.
Unemployment is a situation in which people with enough capability, qualification and willingness to
work are not able to work. The causes of unemployment are heavily debated. Unemployment rate is
very high in India, there are so many reasons behind it, 1st is the population of this country, it is said that
if the rate of population increasing remain same, India will the most populated country till 2027,
problem with the increasing population is the usage of resources also increases, and the people using it
also increases, and these resources are not being used for the purpose of increasing job opportunities
    for people.

What Ethical guidance does Psychologist follow?

Ethics are basic guidelines for the professional counsellors and psychologists, these ethics should be
followed by the psychologists performing therapy, counselling or researches. Ethics are important in
every field though they became more important in the fields like psychology because we deal with
humans and it is very critical to deal with most fragile species especially someone going through
    stressful situations.

Ethical guidances are to guide a process and to make sure none, counsellor or client get harmed in any
way. Ethics were made to prevent client as well as counsellor to get harassed. It also determines the
values a counsellor should have, like respecting human rights, should ensure the safety of a client, a
counsellor should respect client-counsellor relation because it is not a usual friendship, it is a
therapeutic relationship and only meant to benefit and development of client and should terminate just
    after the therapy ends.

Some major ethics a counsellor should follow during the counselling:

    • Therapeutic relationship

It is not a friendship or any casual relationship you made with the client, counsellor should
understand that this relationship will need after the therapy ends, counsellor need to make the
client comfortable, they need to make the client is comfortable and feel safe but this will not
end forever so the client should empower the client and not make him/her dependant.

    •  Confidentiality

It became mandatory to keep things to yourself as a counsellor because the client is sharing
his/her problems to you by trusting you, he/she might have shared things with his/her friends
and family but possibly he was not comfortable and not found them this much trustworthy.
Other than this, disclosing clients identity may lead them into some serious problems, e.g. if
someone is bisexual and they have not shared it with anyone possibly they are suffering to
accept it themselves and you shared it with someone who is also by chance known to them and
they start teasing the client, it is not only against the ethics but also not morally correct.

    • Autonomy

A client is coming to you to resolve his/her problem or stress which is affecting his/her daily
life, as a counselor you are required to empower him/her not only for current situations but also
for future references so that if he/she faces the same or similar problems in future they will
be able to deal by themselves. In this process, a counsellor needs to collect reasons for their behaviour
but it should be kept that client should be in governance to his/her life, the counsellor should not force
him/her to tell anything and should not interfere in his/her personal life.

    • Informed consent

Informed consent is something very important for not only for the client but from the counsellor
perspective as well, in foreign countries informed consent is taken in written form, it is not
taken as seriously in India, though consent is taken but not in written form, it is important for
the client so that they are aware of the process, therapies, pay and approx. sessions. From the
counsellors perspective, it is important so that he/she has clients consent for the therapies he/she
using and so that client should claim wrong things, it is proof that the client him/her self is
involving in therapy and is aware of everything.

    • Trustworthy

Counselling is the process build on trust and comfort, client should feel comfortable and
have trust in the client so that the process moves forward, its although counsellor’s responsibility to make
client trust him/her at first because he/she is already dealing with so many things but it became mutual
once the relation starts. Without trust counselling cannot happen, the client should trust the counsellor
about the information will not leak and the process is in the best interest of the client.

    • Beneficence

The whole process is actually for the betterment of client, a counsellor should keep in mind
that this should not be for personal use and if he/she wants to use his/her case for future references then
the counsellor makes clients permission. In reference to research, researchers should share benefits with
    the participants.

    • Non Malfeasance

As mentioned above it is for the betterment of client and not harassing client in any mean, be it
physically, economically, emotionally or mentally. It is important to respect his/her human
rights and NO HARM to the client in anyways, there are cases in foreign where client accused counsellor
of sexual harm so counsellor need to be extra conscious in term of this particular ethics, it can be very
harmful to the client in terms of use, and for the counselor in terms of misuse of this rule.

    • Justice

The client comes to you for treatment, they pay you for the therapies, a counsellor should
respect their and clients time and also the resources the client is using. Counsellor need to be fair to their
clients in term of gender, caste and religion, he/she should have no discrimination policy and should treat
every client equally and respect their human rights.

    •  Self-respect

The counsellor should take in notice their self-respect and should not do things that are morally
    not right for the counsellor.
These are some major ethics that a counsellor should follow, but there are some moral principles that a
counsellor should have in terms of being a good counsellor they are empathy, sincerity, integrity,
resilience, respect, humility, competence, fairness, wisdom, courage and most important is human rights
